Takes Thyme

Wow! The food, drinks, and lattes were absolutely delicious. This has been one of my favorite stops on the trip so far. We ordered the lamb casserole and the pesto pasta — and honestly, the lamb casserole was the best I’ve ever had. The flavors were unlike anything I’ve tasted before.

Absolutely amazing food, service, and prices for what you get. We made a reservation online, but we arrived about 90 minutes earlier than anticipated. Fortunately, we were able to be accommodated. We were completely famished from walking around the area, so we didn't get any pics of the fabulous food, unfortunately. My group shared the Apertif Plate, and it was impressive! The three cheeses from local farms were top notch. Everything from the olives to the mustard was absolute perfection. I think that plate could be my entire meal next time. We also ordered "The Best Spaghetti in Town," the "Pull Me Up" quesadilla and the lamb. All were delicious! We hope to return if we are in the area again.

Takes Thyme is an incredible restaurant that truly stands out! The owner sources ingredients from local farms, ensuring everything is fresh and high quality. She is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The food is absolutely exceptional every dish is bursting with flavor and made with care. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious cuisine with a personal touch, this is the place to go! Highly recommend!

Service here is suuuuper friendly, very welcoming and warm. The interior gives off a very cozy vibe. And the food is super comforting, beautifully dressed on the plate and very tasty. Just what I needed! Thanks :)

We had a great dinner here. The restaurant is very cozy and warm. The service was excellent and the food delicious. 10/10 would reccomend. We had the mix Crostini as appetiser. Absolutely loved these. As the main dish we had ricotta and spinach cannelloni that was rich in taste and deliciously creamy. The owner is a very nice and kind woman. I’ll definitely be back soon

Delicious food in a old place, held by a very nice woman. Service is quick, efficient. Good selection of beers. Can't say enought about the bœuf bourguignon and the burger of ossobucco. Prices are fair and really worth it to walk a bit further from the center. Go have a try and support little restaurants like this, you won't make a mistake.

We had dinner at this restaurant during our stay in Ghent. Both the fish and spaghetti were delicious. My husband and I were saying that the spaghetti tasted just as good as in Italy, and it turned out the owner is Italian! It made sense. We had a wonderful time. We'll definitely come back again next time we're in Ghent.

We were looking for a nice restaurant away from the busy areas, and I came across this place on Google. The name immediately caught my attention, and after seeing the great reviews, I told my husband we had to try it. I’m so glad we did! The owner is such a lovely lady, and the food was absolutely delicious—you can really tell it’s made with quality ingredients. The portions are generous too! My husband and I kept talking about how happy we were to have discovered this cozy spot that serves such flavorful dishes. We’re always on the lookout for great restaurants, and this one truly exceeded our expectations. My husband keeps reminding me to leave a review because he feels this restaurant really deserves the recognition. We couldn’t agree more—highly recommended!
